Burrillville teen Ben St. Pierre held his annual Lemonade Stand event over the weekend. The family thanked all who helped out, announcing that they raised $6,422 for the Burrillville Animal Shelter this year.

Political signs

The town of Burrillville has published an announcement regarding political signs during the 2022 election, noting that candidate ads cannot be placed on town property or state roads. All political signs must be removed from all locations including private property ten days after the primary and general election.

Motorcycle run

A motorcycle run to benefit Boy Scout Troop 1 Pascoag will be held on Saturday, August 27, sponsored by Peter Droin, owner of Burrillville Motor Sales, Inc. and Larry’s Towing. The ride will begin at Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike in Chepachet, with check-in from 10-10:30 a.m. and kick stands at 11 a.m. The ride will end back at Cady’s with a dinner donated by Serio’s Pizzarama and raffles.

Tickets cost $20 and are available Burrillville Motors, Cady’s Tavern, Serio’s, Champs Liquors, Christy’s Liquors and Pat’s Service Station.

Wicked Car Show

Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club will host the Cruise Crew New England’s “Wicked Car Show.” on Saturday, August 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no entry fees for show cars or spectators and the event will include live music, food trucks, a two step battle, car limbo and awards.

Burrillville too!

Two items included as part of North Smithfield’s “things to know,” this week: early voting and participation in ZAP 50, also apply in Burrillville.

In Burrillville, early voting will take place at at the American Legion Hall located at 103 Harrisville Main St. during normal Town Hall business hours Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

And don’t forget to sign up to do your part to ZAP the Blackstone this Saturday.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Board of Canvassers will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 23 starting at 10 a.m. at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.

The Pascoag Fire District Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 23 at 141 Howard Ave. starting at 6 p.m. with executive session. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 23 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Memorial Library. The agenda is here.

  1. On the political signs…so who is going to go around making people remove these signs? Hell, there are still signs and flags up all over this town for tRump, and that election was two years ago. Not to mention all the tRump 2024 signs. Sure doesn’t seem like the town is doing anything about that…probably because damn near every public figure in Burrillville is a tRump toady. I’m not holding my breath waiting for this town to do a damn thing about these signs.
