Teen crashes vehicle stolen out of Glocester into Cranston pond

CRANSTON – A 16-year-old driving a vehicle stolen from a residence in Glocester was arrested on Monday, April 15 after reportedly driving it into a pond in Cranston.

Johnston police reportedly attempted to stop the vehicle, a Ford Escape, on Plainfield Pike around 3:20 p.m. on Monday. Officers who pursued the vehicle said it sideswiped another car before swerving off the roadway and plunging into a retention pond near the area Walmart.

No one was injured, and the teen was taken into custody on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, reckless driving/eluding, and duty to stop with an attended vehicle, according to reports on the incident.
