Voting

Today, Tuesday, April 2, is the Presidential Preference Primary and the town of Glocester will open one polling location to be used by all voters at the Glocester Senior Center at 1210 Putnam Pike. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters can check their registration status by visiting the Secretary of State’s website here.

Feedback wanted

The Town Council must make a determination regarding the structure standing on town property at 1272 Putnam Pike and is seeking the feedback from the public regarding ideas for the building. The board is set to consider all recommended options at their meeting on Thursday, August 1. Those with ideas or recommendations regarding the future of the structure can submit it in writing to the Town Clerk at jeanfecteau@glocesterri.gov, or attend the meeting where ideas will be discussed.

“We welcome your input,” notes a brief on the town website. “During past council meetings the disrepair of the property has been discussed at length.”

Bingo

The Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will host bingo on Friday, April 5, with doors to open at 5 p.m. and games starting at 6 p.m. There will be food available, with a 10 pack of six cards sold for $10. According to state law, no one under age 18 is allowed in the building during play.

Dr. Michael Fine

Dr. Michael Fine will be at the Job Armstrong store at 1181 Putnam Pike on Saturday, April 6 from noon to 4 p.m. The visit is part of a weekly series put on on Saturdays through July by the Glocester Heritage Society in collaboration with the Association of Rhode Island Authors.

Psychic Fair

Tavern on Main at 1157 Putnam Pike will host a Psychic Fair on Sunday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, put on by the Southbridge, Mass.-based Cosmic Cat, will have free admission. For more information call (860) 963-9500.

Town meetings

The Foster-Glocester School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 2 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building at 91 Anan Wade Road. The agenda is here.
