Parent’s Night Out

Glad Tidings GTeens & (I)mpact Youth will hold Parents Night Out on Friday, Feb. 23 from 5-8 p.m. at the church at 111 Victory Highway. Kids from infants through 5th grade are invited to enjoy movies, games and snacks at a cost of $20 per child and $5 for each additional sibling. Register here.

America’s Favorite Pet

Is Glocester dog Rocky America’s Favorite Pet? Rocky is currently in first place in a contest, with the winner to be featured on the cover of Modern Dog and win $10,000.

“Rocky loves farm life and enjoys his very own garden to run around in,” notes the entry for the Chihuahua.

Pantry drop off

The Glocester Police Department is helping to stock the town food pantry, which is reportedly running low on some necessary items. Items needed include tuna, soup, pasta, oil, crushed tomatoes, instant oatmeal, instant mashed potatoes, Chef Boyardee, jelly, sugar, juice, beef stew, corned beef hash, canned fruit, tea, hot chocolate and aseptic milk. Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day in the lobby of the station at 162 Chopmist Hill Road as an extension of the pantry’s limited hours.

Surrender Sunday

The Seven Acre Wood will hold Surrender Sunday on February 25, accepting local livestock surrenders, by appointment only. Anyone looking to re-home small livestock including chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, rabbits, goats and roosters is encouraged to message the farm to book an appointment.

Town meetings

The West Glocester Fire District. will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20 starting at 5:30 p.m. at 2410 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Budget Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Planning Board workshop originally scheduled for February 20 has been cancelled.

The Glocester Zoning Board originally scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22 has been cancelled. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 28.
