The town of Glocester has announced that in addition to the expected school, business and office closures, the Transfer Station is closed on Tuesday, Feb. 13 due to the snowstorm and Probate Court scheduled for Tuesday has been cancelled. A parking ban in effect on Glocester roadways through 8 p.m.
Social media forum
The Foster-Glocester Regional School District will host a virtual forum via Zoom on Tuesday, Feb. 13 starting at 6:30 p.m. on social media and protecting your child. Chieftain parents are invited to learn the pitfalls of technology, with information on device awareness and expected challenges. Participants are asked to register here.
Hiring
The town of Glocester is now accepting applications for both a public safety dispatcher and probationary police officer. Entertainment
Trigger South will play at Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike on Saturday, Feb. 17 with a show starting at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, it’s Jesse Desorcy & Co. from 4 to 7 p.m.
Rhody returns to Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike on Friday, Feb. 16 with an 8 p.m. show, and on Saturday, Crossfire will play at the tavern starting at 8 p.m.
Town meetings
The Glocester Planning Board special meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 13 has been cancelled.
The Glocester Budget Board is scheduled to hold a meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 14 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
