The Glocester Senior Center has announced a new exhibit in their gallery. Residents are invited to stop by the center at 1210 Putnam Pike and view “Windows and Doors” by the Pastel Art Class.

FEMA

FEMA has issued a Federal Disaster Declaration for the Glocester area due to the damage from the storms that passed through from September 10 -13. FEMA Disaster Assistance teams will be visiting affected areas and homes in Glocester this week. Those who have had damage from the storms and have questions regarding federal assistance are instructed to contact FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.

The Glocester Police Department noted that they have a list of FEMA personnel and vehicles that will be out and about in town, and that residents should continue to report any suspicious activity.

Papa Joe’s Acoustic Chaos returns to Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike this Friday, Jan. 26, with a show starting at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the tavern hosts the Roadhouse Blues Jam starting at 3 p.m.

At Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike, Down to Earth will play on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 8 to midnight, and Red Herring takes the stage on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.

Town meetings

The Glocester Planning Board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 23 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Budget Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 24 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Land Trust will not be holding their regularly scheduled meeting this week.
