PROVIDENCE – A North Smithfield woman has been charged with driving under the influence with two child passengers stemming from a traffic stop in Smithfield in September 2023, according to a release this week from Attorney General Peter Neronha.

Samantha Brown, 30, was reportedly arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 6 by members of the Smithfield Police Department following a traffic stop. Arresting officers reportedly found cocaine during the stop, and have alleged that the defendant drove her vehicle under the influence while two children were passengers.

The Office of the Attorney General has charged Brown with two counts of child endangerment, one count of driving under the influence with a child under the age of 13 as a passenger, and one count of possession of 10 grams or less of cocaine.

Brown is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference in Providence County Superior Court on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
