NORTH SMITHFIELD – A North Smithfield woman won $30,000 this week with a lottery ticket purchased at Brigido’s Fresh Market in Slatersville, according to a release from the Rhode Island Lottery.
The woman purchased the, “Money Clip” instant game ticket at the store at 900 Victory Highway, marking one of the first major wins in northern Rhode Island in 2024 – and she’s not alone.
A man from Woonsocket was reportedly organizing his desk on New Year’s Day when he found a Mega Millions ticket from the July 18, 2023 drawing. When he checked the ticket, he realized he was holding onto a $1 million winner, according to lottery officials. That ticket was reportedly purchased the ticket at Mobil at 3 Pine Swamp Road in Cumberland. He said the money will help him to retire.
The $30,000 North Smithfield winner, meanwhile, said she plans on paying bills and buying herself a new Gucci bag.
