NS police seize 52 grams of fentanyl, crack cocaine from Pascoag man in traffic stop

NORTH SMITHFIELD – A Pascoag man is facing felony drug charges after traffic stop in North Smithfield reportedly led to seizure of fentanyl, crack cocaine and various narcotic paraphernalia.

Matthew Robinson, 40, was the passenger in a vehicle stopped by NSPD on Great Road on Thursday, Dec. 14 for reported registration violations. According to police, Ptlm. Kyle DelPrete observed suspicious behavior from the passenger during the stop, and asked the occupants to exit the vehicle.

DelPrete located several bags of fentanyl, which Robinson reportedly admitted were his.

Drugs seized by DelPrete and in a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in 52 grams of suspected fentanyl, along with ten grams of crack cocaine, two scales, and several baggies and containers for narcotics storage, according to police.

Robinson was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to deliver. He was arraigned in 6th District Court on Wednesday, Dec. 15 and held as a probation violator.
