Thanksgiving

Town Hall will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24 in celebration on Thanksgiving.

Grab an early feast on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Mr. Z’s by the Lake at 2400 Putnam Pike, where they’ll offer a special holiday menu, or catch a Thanksgiving Eve sho at Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike with Edge of Dreams. And don’t forget to shop local this weekend at Small Business Saturday.

Thankful Gathering

Visit Brown & Hopkins Country Store at 1195 Putnam Pike on Food Drive on Friday, Nov 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Thankful Gathering – a collection event for the Glocester Food Pantry from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Help the shop fill the ’55 Dodge with non-perishable items. Bring three items and receive a thank you gift from Brown and Hopkins for your generosity.

Stop back in at the store for Small Business Weekend on Saturday or Sunday for a champagne toast to small business, and receive another small treat for your support.

Cookie boards

The Creative Room at 6 Money Hill Road will hold a special craft night on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. making Christmas cookie boards with Brooke Borges. At this ladies night out event, guests are invited to bring their own beverages and snacks as they decoupage a 12″ wooden cookie board, fill it with a dozen hand crafted cookies, then top it off with cellophane wrapping and a bow. The cost is $65 with reservations available here.

Tree lighting

The Harmony Fire Department will hold a tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 194 Putnam Pike starting at 4 p.m. The event will feature Santa, entertainment, presents, a bake sale and more.

Town meetings

The Glocester Planning Board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 21 starting at 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

Have a safe & Happy Thanksgiving!
