Paving
T. Miozzi Paving is scheduled to continue installing the top course of new pavement on Lincoln Drive, Franklin Way and Adams Circle on Tuesday. Nov. 14 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be limited access to this area for the entire day and area residents are asked to move all vehicles off this road. There will be a police detail and flaggers assigned to this project for the day and the only traffic will be for emergencies.
The business warned that the work could be cancelled without notice due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Questions can be directed to the North Smithfield Highway Division at 767-2200 ext. 348.
Heritage walk
The North Smithfield Heritage Association will hold a Heritage Walk on Saturday, Nov. 18 featuring Woonsocket Hill including the Mowry Fire Tower, Philip Mowry House and NS47, and National Grid stone features. Walkers will meet in the North Smithfield Middle School parking lot at 9:30 a.m.
Thanksgiving drive
Kenny’s Coalition and the Patriots Riders are holding an 8th annual Thanksgiving drive for active military families in the 282nd Squadron in North Smithfield. The groups are collecting $20 Stop & Shop gift cards and monetary donations to purchase gift cards to help complete their Thanksgiving dinners. Donations can be sent via Venmo @kennyscoalition or for more donation information email kennyscoaltion@gmail.com.
Open house
The North Smithfield Heritage Association invites the public to view recent renovations at the Forestdale School at an open house at the structure at 190 School St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18. Visitors can also get a start on holiday shopping with NSHA merchandise such as ornaments, calendars, jigsaw puzzles, books, map, and cozy North Smithfield throws.
