BURRILLVILLE – A crash around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon on Lapham Farm Road left two dead, according to Col. Stephen Lynch.

The accident was the first in a series of events that kept police mobilized on Friday, Oct. 13.

Lynch said that while police were investigating the fatal accident, a second, two-car crash took place on Route 102 near the Glendale Bypass.

That accident had no injuries, but just as officers cleared it, they were called to a four-car crash on Route 102 in the area of Broncos Crossing, where one party had minor complaints of injury.

“Shortly thereafter, we then had an evacuation at Crystal Lake Nursing Home for smoke coming from a dryer malfunction,” Lynch said.

Update: Police have identified to local teens killed in the crash.

  1. So horrible that it brought back memories of my teen years when a similar crash (Steere Farm Rd if I remember correctly) occurred in the early 80`s. A memorial was set in front of that tree for many years.

  2. We need more police present on the roads. People are distracted looking at their phones and drive way too carelessly. I realize we don’t have nearly enough police but they do need to be out there more.
