Cornhole

Oakleaf Family Campground will host its second annual cornhole tournament to benefit Ponaganset Scholarship Fund and Peggy McKeever Scholarship Fund on Saturday, Sept. 9 starting at 10 a.m. at the campground at 43 Oak Leaf Way. The event is open to the public and teams must register to participate here.

Village Common

If you know of an elderly person who might need some assistance with rides, shopping, errands, technology help or small household chores, check out the new Glocester Village Common. The new volunteer organization is working to make aging in Glocester a better experience by offering activities and services that minimize isolation and support independent living. The group is also seeking volunteers.

Car Wash fundraiser

The Ponaganset Chieftains boys soccer team will hold a car wash fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dino’s Park & Shop at 1120. Donations to support the team are welcome.

Fall bingo

Harmony Library at 195 Putnam Pike is now accepting registration for Fall Bingo for kids, to be held Monday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. Participants ages 5 and up will have the chance to win fun fall prizes and candy.

Town meetings

Update: Meeting rescheduled to a date to be determined: The Glocester Town Council will hold a show cause hearing for Hill’s Tavern on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Glocester Town Council is scheduled to hold a regular meeting on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike starting at 7:30 p.m.
