Dance Party at Dusk

Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department’s Dance Party at Dusk Family Music Classes begin this week, to be held weekly on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm from July 12 through August 2. The program is geared for children up to age 8, featuring games, song, rhymes, books and instruments. The cost for the full four-week program is $50 per family, with drop-ins welcome at a cost of $15. For more information, or to sign up, call or text (508) 431-3129.

Movie night

Bi-weekly Friday movie nights continue at Spring Lake Beach this week, with a showing of The Goonies at the beach at 50 Old Hillside Drive starting at 7 p.m. on July 14. The events, sponsored by the Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition are free with beach admission, with the water to stay open late, weather permitting.

Open house

Neighborworks Blackstone River Valley will host an open house at the Fernwood development at 200 George Eddy Road in Burrillville on Saturday, July 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to learn about the organization’s self help housing program and hear how, over the course of a year, eight families worked together to build three bedroom, two bathroom homes on 1/3 of an acre of land on a private cul-de-sac in Burrillville.

Concert #2

The Riverwalk Times Concert Series is now in full swing, with All About Amy to play at the Stillwater Mill Pavilion in Harrisville, just in front of the Jesse Smith Memorial Library, from 6-8 p.m. Dinolicious food truck will be on site and families are invited to bring chairs and blankets to the lawn for a free performance.

Organizers remind visitors that parking is prohibited in the Clocktower Apartment and Nikos lots.
