Small Business credit available

The Burrillville Town Manager’s office is reminding local businesses that the Internal Revenue Service is still sponsoring the Employee Retention Credit.  The refundable tax credit is for qualified small employers who retained employees and paid qualified wages to some or all of their employees during the pandemic after March 12, 2020, and before January 1, 2022.

Interested small businesses can go to the IRS website at https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/employee-retention-credit.  Eligible businesses could receive up to $26,000 per employee.  There are consulting groups who may be able to assist those who are interested.  Businesses are advised to go to any search engine and enter “Employee Retention Credit” or “ERC”.
