Zambarano hearing, Food trucks & a Trashion Show: Five things to know in Burrillville this week

Zambarano hearing

The Rhode Island Department of Housing, Tri County Community Action Agency and the Burrillville Town Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 6 to discuss the state’s plans to consider converting the cottages at Zambarano Hospital into public shelters. The meeting will be held in the auditorium of Burrillville Middle School at 2220 Broncos Highway starting at 7 p.m. and will provide an opportunity for residents to voice their support or opposition to the plan to house homeless populations at the complex.

Trashion show

Burrillville Middle School will host its annual Trashion Show and art exhibit on Wednesday, June 7, featuring the BMS robotics showcase. The event has free admission, running from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and will feature a raffle table, games and light refreshments. The trashion show portion begins at 7 p.m. in the BMS auditorium.

Assembly of Food Trucks

PVD Food Trucks returns to town on Sunday, June 11 for the Assembly of Food Trucks on the grounds of the Assembly Theatre at 46 East Ave. Attendance is free and tickets are not required, just pay for what you eat and drink from a great variety of food trucks accepting cash, credit and debit cards.

Guests are invited to make themselves at home on the lawn and bring chairs and blankets. The event will include live music, and Trinity Brewhouse will be serving up local beer and wine.

Pints for Vets

Bravo Brewing Company at 75 Pascoag Main St. will host the 4th annual Pints for Vets on Saturday, June 10, a fundraiser for Run to Home Base. The event will feature raffles including a 50/50 and a visit from the Valhalla Heroes Truck.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, June 5 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Memorial Library. The agenda is here.

The Pascoag Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will hold a meeting on Monday, June 5 starting at 6 p.m. at 141 Howard Ave. The agenda is here.

The Pascoag Fire District Commissioners will meet again on Wednesday, June 6 for the purpose of correcting the voting list to be used at the special meeting to be held Monday, June 12. The agenda is here.
