Burrillville police charge 15-year-old with assault with a deadly weapon after attack with skateboard

BURRILLVILLE – A 15-year-old has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon after reportedly striking an older teen in the head with a skateboard on Friday, May 12.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy suffered a substantial head injury, according to reports.

Officers were called to the Burrillville bike path just after 3:30 p.m. for the incident, in which the boy was reportedly struck in the head from behind.

The victim was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and was released later that night.

The suspect, who has not been named due to age, was identified by police and arrested. The assailant is reportedly being held at training school in Cranston and expected to appear in family court on Monday, May 15.

The incident is reportedly still under investigation.
