N.S. vs Lincoln
North Smithfield High School senior Zackary Kerrigan has organized a fundraiser for the Xpress Football & Cheer program, a girls flag football game to be played against Lincoln on Friday, April 28 at the North Smithfield football field starting at 6 p.m.
Kerrigan played for Xpress from 2011 through 2019, and for North Smithfield High School from 2019 through 2022. This fall, he will play for Bridgewater State and hopes to give back to the program that started his football career.
Admission to the game costs $5, with all proceeds go to North Smithfield Xpress.
Opening day
North Smithfield Little League will hold opening day on Saturday, April 29 and is sponsoring a 50/50 raffle to celebrate. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased via Venmo to @NSLL23-23, with a name and phone number included in the comments section. Tickets will also be available on opening day.
Northmen 5K
The annual Northmen 5K will take place on Saturday, April 29, put on in 2023 by student Cole Vowels as part of his senior project. The race will begin at 9 a.m. at the top of the hill outside the athletic field gates, and end with a lap around the track, with race net-proceeds to be donated to North Smithfield Athletic Association.

Doggie deadline
The town is reminding residents that all dogs in should be licensed by the April 30 deadline to avoid a late fee. The cost is $6 per dog and proof of rabies immunization is required. Licenses can be renewed online at https://northsmithfieldri.viewpointcloud.com, mailed or brought to Town Hall during regular business hours.
