Earth Day cleanup

The town of Burrillville’s annual Earth Day cleanup will be held for Saturday, April 15 through Sunday, April 30. To take part and schedule a pickup of supplies and t-shirts by appointment at the town’s public works office at 200 Clear River Drive call (401) 710-4214.

The cleanup is held through collaboration between the Burrillville Lions Club, the Department of Public Works and the Burrillville Conservation Commission.

Intersection improvements

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation’s project to improve intersections and crosswalks in the state will target the areas of Route 102 at Burrillville Middle School, Central Street, Bronco Crossing and East Avenue starting the week of Monday, April 17.

Lucina Brothers is the prime contractor for the project.

Concert in the Stacks

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Jesse Smith Memorial Library, the library will host a special concert featuring All About Amy on Friday, April 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert will be held in the stacks of the library at 100 Tinkham Lane.

Willy Wonka Jr. auditions

The Assembly Theatre will hold auditions for Willy Wonka Jr. on Sunday, April 23 from 2-4 p.m. at the theater on East Avenue in Harrisville. The Assembly ACT production will take place August 18, 19 and 20 with Producer Holly Dumaine-Picard; Director Shauna Brosky; Music Director Mike Konnerth and Stage Manager: Ashley Boisvert.

Town meetings

The Burrillville School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 18 starting at 6 p.m. in the media center of Burrillville High School at 425 East Ave. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Conservation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 18 starting at 7 p.m. at 111 Chapel St. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, April 19 starting at 4 p.m. at the Town Building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.

Bonus “thing”: Scholarship dinner

The Burrillville Lions Club will host a Scholarship Dinner at Serio’s Pizzerama on Church Street in Pascoag on Monday, April 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. The dinner will raise funds for qualifying seniors in the Class of 2023 and will include raffles and a 50/50 split the pot.
