Snowfall

Rainfall Tuesday morning in Glocester is expected to turn to a wintry mix with snow starting at noon. The latest forecast shows the town expecting 5-7 inches with high wind gusts Tuesday evening causing potential for power outages in the area.

Glocester Emergency Management is reminding residents to report power outages to RI Energy at 1-855-743-1102 – not 911. RI Energy is expected to have line crews prepositioned in the area to shorten restoration times.

Foster/Glocester Elementary Schools have cancelled all after-school activities and Glocester Public Works has announced that a parking ban will go into effect Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. For the latest updates on delays and cancellations visit ribroadcasters.com.

Closing

Dragonfly Apothecary has announced that they will be closing their brick and mortar shop in Chepachet as of Thursday, March 16. The business will continue via online platforms, events, fairs, and festivals, and will honor any outstanding gift cards in those mediums.

“This was not an easy decision and we’re sad and disappointed that the location wasn’t the fit we had hoped for,” the business noted in an announcement on social media. “We will keep you in the loop if/when we’re able to hold outdoor events, have a new location, and are at events.”

St. Patrick’s Day

Friday, March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day and Hill’s Tavern will offer a full day of festivities. starting with Irish step dancers from 1 to 5 p.m. Bill Reidy the Southcoast Rambler will be playing Irish tunes from 2 to 5 p.m. followed a karaoke party starting at 8 p.m. Specials will include corned beef dinner, reuben sandwiches, green beer and Irish soda bread.

Cady’s Tavern will have entertainment by Nolan Leite Trio starting at 7 p.m.

Coffee & Conversations

Visit Dunkin at 1018 Putnam Pike in Chepachet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 for Coffee & Conversations. Enjoy a free cup of joe and bring your questions and concerns to talk with Rep. Brian Rea and Town Councilor Cheryl Greathouse.
