BURRILLVILLE– Spring is just around the corner but the current weather conditions across the region still includes cold temperatures for all of us.

Space heaters are utilized in many homes and apartments during the cold weather seasons and months to help keep us warmer. It is very important to remember that these heating sources should not be placed anywhere near home and apartment exits or doorways. It’s just not safe.

This week’s Fearless Dino Protector Squad, “Home Safe Home”, Sunday feature coloring cartoon, is an excellent way to start a conversation about fire safety and burn prevention in your home and apartment with your children. Kids should be reminded to stay at least three feet away from all space heaters.

This coloring cartoon can also be printed and copied for distribution to grade school students, daycares, libraries and community centers, reminding kids and families to be safer while using space heaters. Police officers, firefighters and child safety advocates can use these very important, potentially life-saving coloring cartoons and articles published every week, as a creative vehicle to help keep kids and families safer in your city, town and community. It’s absolutely free and takes only a few minutes to print out, then copy and hand out to children everywhere.
