Comedy show, RIde-a-thon: Five things to know in Glocester this week

Registration open

Registration is now open for Tri-Town Titans Football & Cheerleading for the season to start in August. The program is open to kids ages 8-14 and costs $85 through April 30. A separate flag football and cheerleading program for ages 4-6 costs $50.

Comedy show

The Glocester Heritage Society and Chepachet Grange will host a comedy show on Saturday, March 25 at the Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road. Dave Kane’s, “Jokes My Irish Father Told Me,” will be presented along with light refreshments, raffles and door prizes at the event, with doors to open a 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show.

Mary Poppins

Ponaganset High School Drama will present Mary Poppins with performances at the school at 137 Anan Wade Road March 10-12.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children at www.showtix4u.com/event-details/69609 and the door. Opening night is March 10 at 7 p.m., with performances on March 11, at 1 and 7 p.m., and March 12, at 2 p.m.

RIde-a-thon

RIde Spin Studio at 15 Money Hill Road in Chepachet will host a Ride-a-Thon on Saturday, March 11 to benefit “Noah Strong,” a fundraiser for a Glocester boy fighting a rare cancer, from 9-10 a.m.

Riders collect sponsors to make contributions with 100 percent to be donated to Daigle’s family. The rider with the highest collected donation will receive five free rides at the studio.

Town meetings

The Harmony Fire District meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 21 has been cancelled.

The Glocester Historic District Commission has cancelled the meeting originally schedule for Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The Glocester Zoning Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 23 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
