Hike Booth Pond

North Smithfield Parks & Recreation’s new hiking series resumes this week with a guided tour of Booth Pond and the old Souza Farm to take place on Saturday, Feb. 18. Hikers will meet at the Aldi’s parking lot at 9:30 a.m., and explore the 132-acre protected area behind Dowling Village on the North Smithfield/Woonsocket line.

The guided hike is open to the public and expected to take from one and a half, to two hours to complete. Hikers are advised to wear long shirts, pants and hiking shoes, use insect repellent and bring a bottle of water.

President’s Day cleanup

The North Smithfield Heritage Association will hold a cleanup at Mammouth Hill Park on Mill Street on President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 20, starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers are invited to show up and help to continue efforts to clear trash, brush, and trees from the park.

Music Bingo

Looking for something a little different to do on Valentine’s Day? Yama Fuji at Slatersville Plaza has been hosting Music Bingo every Tuesday night starting at 6 p.m.

It is free to play and guests can win prizes, while enjoying tasty food and drinks.

Pantry announces needs, dates for February

The North Smithfield Food Pantry is in need of tuna, beans and pasta sauce for the month of February. Pickup dates for North Smithfield residents in need of food will be held on Saturdays, Feb. 18 & 25 from 10:00-10:30 a.m., and Tuesdays, Feb. 21 & 28 from 5:30- 6:00 p.m.

The pantry is located at Slatersville Congregational Church and open to North Smithfield residents. Proof of address is required.

Town meetings

The North Smithfield Water Supply Review Committee will hold a meeting on Monday, Feb. 13 starting at 6 p.m. at Town Hall at 83 Green St. The agenda is here.

The North Smithfield Town Council and the Municipal Building Review Task Force will hold a joint meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Town Hall starting at 6:45 p.m. The agenda is here.

The North Smithfield Sewer Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Town Hall starting at 7 p.m. The agenda is here.
