Last chance for Candlelight shopping

If you still have gifts to buy and you haven’t made it out to Chepachet for a chance to support local businesses – in a charming village decked out for the holiday – you still have one last chance this year.

The village will host the final Candlelight Shopping event of the season on Thursday, Dec. 22 from 5 to 9 p.m. The events have taken place every Thursday in December, and feature local shops decorated for the season and streets lit with antique street lights, while the sounds of holiday music add to the old-fashioned ambiance. Locals and visitors are invited to the village to enjoy a unique holiday shopping, dining, and entertainment excursion.

Ornaments support kids in foster care

Several businesses and organizations in town are offering opportunities to sponsor a child in foster care this Christmas season. To help out, purchase an ornament marked with a sponsored child’s name and age from The Hen House, Trish Hampton, Healing in Harmony, Chepachet Hardware, Terazza Restaurant, Glad Tidings Church or Crossway Church. The child will receive a personalized duffel bag full of gifts and comfort items.
