GLOCESTER – A Providence man was indicted this week on a charge of second-degree murder stemming from the 2021 shooting death of a 25-year-old woman in Glocester.

Ryan Gallagher, 29, was indicted by a Providence Grand Jury on Friday, Dec. 9 in the death of Taylor Peterson, according to the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office.

According to prosecutors, Gallagher was in a relationship with Peterson, and an argument led to the shooting. Peterson, a Syracuse, NY native, reportedly moved to the area just months before the incident, which happened on June 12, 2021, according to police.

Police said this week the indictment was the result of an 18-month investigation.

Gallagher was arraigned on Monday, Dec. 12 and given a $40,000 surety bail.
