Ornaments for Veterans

Glocester Libraries will offer Ornaments for Veterans on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with residents invited to drop by either library to make a card and ornament for someone who has served. The free opportunity will be offered while supplies last at both locations.

Voting

The General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 8 and many voter’s polling locations in the town of Glocester have changed due to redistricting. To find your polling place and view a sample ballot visit https://vote.sos.ri.gov/ and don’t forget to cast a ballot anytime before 8 p.m.

Food drive

The Hype RI at Harmony Marketplace Plaza at 401 Putnam Pike is holding a food drive this week. To help out and provide food for a local family in need drop off non-perishable goods during business hours through Sunday, Nov. 12.

Veterans Day

Town offices will be closed on Friday in honor of Veterans Day and the town will hold a ceremony at the Glocester Senior Center at 1210 Putnam Pike. The event is open to the public and starts at 11 a.m.

Also on Friday, Glocester Country Club will hold a golf tournament free to all military veterans. The tournament is open to all veterans and active duty military, who will receive a complimentary entry fee, carts, continental breakfast, dinner and drinks. Non-military golfers have a $25 entry free for the nine-hole course with all proceeds to be donated to Wreaths Across America.

Town meetings

The Glocester Land Trust will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8 starting at 7 p.m. at Glocester Town Hall. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Board of Canvassers will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 9 starting at 10 a.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Conservation Commission will hold a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 10 starting at 7 p.m. at Glocester Town Hall. The agenda is here.
