Blood drive

The Knights of Columbus Council 383 and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will hold a blood drive on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 1 to 7 p.m. at 105 Harrisville Main St. Appointments can be made at  ribc.org/drives using sponsor code 0675. Walk-in donations will be accepted if space is available.

Pumpkin carving challenge

Village Martial Arts has announced that the studio is running a pumpkin carving challenge, with the winner to receive a $25 Amazon gift card. Entries should be dropped off at the business at 172 Chapel St. with the name and phone number of the entrant written on a piece of paper and taped to the pumpkin. The deadline for entries is Thursday, Oct. 27 at 8:30 p.m.

There is no entry fee and the winner will be announced on the Village Martial Arts Facebook page on Halloween on Monday, Oct. 31.

Administrative aide list

Burrillville town offices have published an announcement stating that the town is seeking applicants to establish an eligibility list for the position of administrative aide. Applications and a job description are available at Town Hall or online here, and all candidates will be required to take a proficiency test.

DPNA Pumpkinfest

Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association’s annual Pumpkinfest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29 by the Bridgeway from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will include a DJ, food trucks and local vendors, as well as a contest for carved pumpkins with awards for scariest, funniest, most original, best in show, best business and kids.

Pumpkins must be registered between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. and will be judged between 6:30 and 7 p.m.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Field Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Burrillville High School media center. The agenda can be found here.

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25 starting at 7 p.m. at Jesse Smith Memorial Library at 100 Tinkham Lane in the community room. The agenda can be found here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 26 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
