Northern, RI – It is the season of the harvest, a time for pumpkins and apples, foliage and frights – and we want to help you make the most of it with our weekly roundup of things to do, and places to be, right here in northern Rhode Island.

Welcome to a not-quite-Halloween edition of The Weekend, filled with both the usual lineup of live music and local happenings, and seasonal fun for the next three days. It’s Columbus Day weekend, so this week’s lineup includes plenty to do Sunday evening, and even a few special events for Monday.

On Friday, Dragonfly Apothecary kicks off its “guest reader,” series with three special guests in celebration of the season. The store will stay open until 8 p.m. every Friday through October for the weekly events.

Goodwin Bros. Farm Stand in North Smithfield is adding cider donuts to the menu this weekend, and will have a visiting food truck Sunday and free hayrides on Monday.

Haunted Gallows marks its second weekend in Burrillville, with walks along a haunted trail, and special hours on Sunday as well this week. Sunday will also serve as a fundraiser for the Burrillville High School Volleyball Team at the new attraction.

It’s also homecoming weekend in Burrillville – and the public is invited to show their support at the annual parade and game at Alumni Field.

And at Brown & Hopkins Country Store, it’s Spook & Sparkle Weekend with discounts, cocktail samples and the reveal of the store’s first holiday room of the season during business hours.

However you spend it, we hope you have fun and stay safe this weekend northern RI, and if you make a stop at any of these great local venues, don’t forget to tell them: you saw it on NRI NOW.
