Light the Night

The Pascoag and Oakland Mapleville Fire Departments have joined the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s annual Light the Night program this year in honor of the late Lt. Richard Jenks, who died in the line of service in 2018.

Fire stations for both departments will be lit in red through next Sunday, Oct. 9 – the day that the names of 148 firefighters will be added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Md. The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency has also turned the lights over Main Street in downtown Pascoag red in acknowledgement of the loss to the town.

Fire officials asked residents to take a moment to remember Jenks, and all of the fallen when they see the silent tribute.
