Primary

Today, Tuesday, Sept. 13 is the statewide primary, with voting hours taking place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can find their polling location and view their sample ballots here.

The town is warning residents that their voting districts may have change due to redistricting and has also published a map outlining the new borders. There will be no primary this year for Glocester’s Town Council and School Committee races, but voters in both political parties do have choices for many statewide races.

Questions can be directed to the Town Clerk’s office at (401) 568-6206 ext. 0.

Yard & Plant Sale

The Glocester Heritage Society will hold a Master Gardeners Plants Sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Job Armstrong store at 1181 Putnam Pike Chepachet. The event will take place in conjunction with a yard sale, which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Autumn Equinox

The Dragonfly Apothecary will hold a Mabon celebration on the grass by the business at 15 Money Hill Road on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In ancient times Mabon was a celebration of the second harvest, or autumn equinox, when farmers gathered hearty foods like gourds, pumpkins, grapes and apples.

The business will host psychics, Tarot readers, local vendors and artisans at the event.

Carnival

Chepachet Union Church at 1138 Putnam Pike will kick off this year’s Sunday School with their annual carnival and rally day on Sunday, Sept. 18. Visitors of all ages are welcome to the event featuring games, fun and treats.

Sunday School will be held at the church every Sunday during 9 a.m. service.
