Northern, RI – It’s Labor Day weekend and as summer unofficially draws to a close, northern Rhode Island will offer plenty of opportunities for fun, from a long-running parade and festivities in Nasonville – returning this weekend from a two year hiatus – to venues offering live entertainment both indoors and out.

This weekend marks the last five day week at the Rustic Drive, where movies will show Friday and Saturday nights only as we head into fall.

Kick off the fun early and make it feel like a four day weekend by getting out tonight to catch a free show with The Illusions in North Smithfield, or head over to Hill’s Tavern to catch The RI Sweetner Band.

Rebel Rebel plays the outdoor pavilion at Lindy’s Tavern Friday and on Saturday, local markets offer unique goods for shoppers at a farmer’s market, vendor fair and the grand season opening of an art cooperative.

Sunday marks the return of Oakland Mapleville Fire District’s field day and muster or relax with some wine and music by The Bryan Round Quartet at Mulberry Vineyards.

On Monday, mark the Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta with brunch and an observance at the Shrine of the Little Flower.

However you spend your time this weekend, we hope you enjoy it. And if you make it to these great local venues, tell them NRI NOW sent you.
