Birder visits Farmer’s Market

The Burrillville Land Trust has announced that expert birder Todd McLeish will be at the group’s table at the Burrillville Farmers’ Market on Saturday, Sept. 3. A Burrillville resident, McLeish has been watching birds, and writing about other wildlife and environmental issues for more than 25 years

At the farmers’ market, McLeish will answer questions and shed light on some of the most popular and charismatic birds observed in Burrillville’s backyards and all throughout Rhode Island and southern New England during a visit from 9:30 until 11 a.m. In more than 200 magazine and newspaper articles, McLeish has highlighted numerous threatened species, profiled biologists and wildlife artists, and described encounters with a wide variety of backyard creatures. He has written four books about natural history topics, including Return of the Sea Otter and Narwhals: Arctic Whales in a Melting World. The author will have books available for purchase and signing.
