BURRILLVILLE – A former business owner with experience serving on the Harrisville Fire and Water District board is seeking a seat on the Burrillville Town Council, saying he hopes to help the town grow, while protecting its rural character.

David Houle, a Republican, is running for the seven-member board in the General Election this November.

An account manager and director of facilities for Portsmouth-based Aramark, Houle is a graduate of Rhode Island College with a bachelor’s degree in industrial management.

He is the original owner of Gator’s Pub, running the restaurant for its first ten years in business, and was also the original owner and developer of Bronco’s Crossing.

Houle said he believes his experience on the Harrisville Fire and Water District Commission will be helpful in his work on the council.

“The coming years will prove to be very challenging to the budget,” Houle said. “To maintain current service levels, difficult decisions will need to be made.”

Houle said his intention is to listen to every issue brought before the council, and always vote with the town’s best interest. He said he also aims encourage Burrillville’s growth, in the proper zones, while maintaining the town’s rural charm, and to encourage more efficiencies in every town department and agency.

The husband of Beth Houle for 36 years, Houle has one daughter, Katelyn Dumouchelle.

Those who would like to hear more about the candidate are invited to contact him at Dhoule154@yahoo.com, or (401) 578-4141.
