Road closure

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has announced that there will be alternating lane closures for construction this week on Route 146, from Route 99 to Route 146A, Sunday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Family Fun Day

North Smithfield Little League will host Family Fun Day at Pacheco Park on Saturday, June 25 starting at 11 a.m. The event will include inflatables, refreshments and medals for most kids.

Pack 7 Bike Rodeo

Join Pack 7 Slatersville Cub Scouts for a Bike Rodeo on Sunday, June 26 from 4-6 p.m. at North Smithfield Elementary School at 2214 Providence Pike. Guests should bring a bike and helmet, and will have the chance to learn about bike safety from the North Smithfield Police Department, practice skills on a bicycle course and get a free bike tune-up by Blackstone Bicycle. Alien Ice Cream and the Pack 7 Hot Dog Cart will also be on site.

This event is open to all children entering grades K-5 and their families, who are invited to stop by and learn more about what scouting has to offer.

Summer enrichment

North Smithfield Public Schools have announced a full list of summer enrichment programs from babysitting classes and gardening lessons, to math and a forensic science summer book club. A full list of opportunities can be found here.

Town meetings

The North Smithfield Town Council will hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 21 starting at 6:45 p.m. at Town Hall at 83 Greene St. The agenda can be found here.
