Congratulations to Victoria Zambarano on coming in the top 14 in her first Miss Rhode Island USA pageant and making it to the semi-finals over the weekend.

“I could not have been more proud to represent Glocester in this journey,” Zambarano noted on social media. “This women empowering weekend will be one I never forget, along with the friendships I gained.”

Ultimate Summer pot

The Hen House at 1189 Putnam Pike will host the “Ultimate Summer Pot,” workshop event on Sunday, June 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. Bring one of your favorite pots and create a summer masterpiece with Thrillers, Spillers & Fillers requiring full sun. Instructors will teach what it takes to keep planters beautiful all summer long, up to the first frost. Bring garden gloves and a roughly 12” diameter pot. For those who don’t have a favorite pot, faux terracotta pots will be available.

Library plant sale

The Glocester Library plant sale will be held on Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at 404 Sawmill Road. Plants for sale include Prospera Compact Basil plants, rosemary and more. Proceeds will benefit Glocester Public libraries.

The Winehouse Project

The Winehouse Project will put on an Amy Winehouse tribute show to the late Amy Winehouse at Mulberry Vineyards on Saturday, June 4. The show features a seven-piece live band and includes all of her hits.

Tickets to the all-ages performance must be purchased in advance and cost $25, with doors at 4:30 and the show at 5:30 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the door. Bring your chairs, blankets and snacks, and wines, craft beers, and hard ciders will be available for sale . No outside alcohol is permitted.

Town meetings

The Glocester Board of Contracts & Purchases will hold a meeting on Wednesday, June 1 starting at 10:30 a.m. at Glocester Town Hall. The agenda can be found here.
