NORTH SMITHFIELD – Someone in the area is $50,000 richer according to officials with the Rhode Island Lottery.

A ticket purchased at Cumberland Farms at 302 North Main St. in Slatersville hit $50,000 in the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, May 18.

The winning ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball® number for the prize, which has yet to be claimed.

According to a release from the Rhode Island Lottery, if the winner had purchased the Power Play feature, the prize would have been multiplied by 3, for a win of $150,000.

The prize was one of three big wins in the state announced on Friday. A man from West Warwick scratched off a $200,000 win playing the “Spectacular Riches” Instant Game and a man from Cranston claimed a $30,000 “Power 5s” winning ticket.

Earlier this week, a Chepachet man won $30,000 on a ticket purchased at Putnam Pike Liquors.
