Water flushing

The Water Department will conduct hydrant flushing this week in the Slatersville, Forestdale, Great Road, Mendon Road and Industrial Drive areas. Flushing will take place starting today, Monday, May 2 and continue through Friday, May 6, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., although some may occur overnight. The routine maintenance process is used to enhance water quality.

Residents are reminded to limit water use as flushing may cause a temporary reduction in pressure. Some discoloration may occur, and users should run cold water until it clears.

Those with questions can contact the Water Department at (401) 767-2200 ext. 320 or 305.

Gala announced

The North Smithfield Heritage Association has scheduled its annual gala on Saturday, June 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., at The Village Haven at 90 School St.
