Northern, RI – Ahh spring…. that time of year when birds return, flowers bloom and the northern Rhode Islanders who’ve been hiding out from the cold indoors on weekends finally emerge ready for some fun.

Things are heating up – quite literally – in northern Rhode Island this week, and while some rain showers are expected over the next few days, it’s not expected to be a washout, and the current forecast shows there should plenty of time to take part in local happenings.

Welcome to The Weekend, northern Rhode Island, where we list all of the entertainment and special events taking place right here in your community. Our roundup covers activities geared toward families and those that aim to attract a more adult crowd.

This week, pre-Easter activities abound, from egg hunts, to services and crafting events. Businesses with outdoor services are starting to change to spring and summer hours including Crystal Lake Tavern in Burrillville, which is now open and seven days a week. Just a week after opening a new arcade, Chapman’s Food & Drink on Victory Highway in Harrisville has announced that batting cages and the ice cream window will be fully open starting this Friday.

If you’re looking for a little extra relation on Sunday, check out Johnny Victory Diner’s “boozy brunch,” with breakfast and cocktails served until 1 p.m.

Our hope, as always, is to support local businesses while providing you all information you need to enjoy a fabulous weekend, right here in northern Rhode Island.

Don’t forget to spread the word: you saw it on NRI NOW.
