Dino’s owners recognized

The Glocester Business Association recently presented the 2021 Joan M. Scorpio award to Stephen Kopeski and family of Dino’s Park N’ Shop in Chepachet. The award is given annually to recognize an individual for their dedication to the GBA and the community.

“Thank you Stephen and family for providing exceptional products and service while keeping us all informed of the changes impacting the grocery industry as we all navigated the past two years,” noted GBA in announcing the award. “Thank you for being a staple in Glocester since 1957.”

Eggapalooza

Glad Tidings Community Church has announced that the church will host Eggapalooza on Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event at 11 Victory Highway will include an Easter Egg hunt, games and activities for children in grades pre-K through 5, including touch-a-truck. The Dinolicious food truck will also be on site.

No burning

The West Glocester Fire Department is reminding residents that burning is not permitted between March 15 and May 15.

“Regardless of the current weather, wind, and rain patterns, our area’s vegetation is extremely dry/dead this time of year,” the department noted. “This poses a dangerous risk when it comes to burning and, for this reason, burning permits are not issued during this timeframe. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our town safe.”
