Get your tickets

The fundraiser to benefit the Music Education Association of North Smithfield and their effort to help students pay for their upcoming trip to Disney is ending Thursday, Nov. 18 at midnight. The group will raffle off two tickets for Golden Circle center orchestra seats to see the Tony Award-winning Broadway show “Hamilton,” live on the MEANS Facebook page on Friday, Nov. 19, for the Friday, Dec. 3 show at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

Two additional prizes include a visit from the North Smithfield High School Carolers, and a chance to win a solo with the band during one of the holiday concerts – playing the whip during the song, “Sleigh Ride.”

There are still a limited number of tickets available for $20, which can be purchased by contacting MEANS through Facebook.

MEANS is also hosting the caroling fundraiser again this year, sending merry singers to homes throughout town on Sunday, Dec. 12 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Residents can sign up for their visit, or send the group to a friend’s home, by filling out the form here.

Ski Club

Registration is now underway for the NS Ski Club offering coach bus trips to ski mountains once a week. High school and middle school students can ski without a parent, and children in grades 5 and below are welcome with a guardian.

Ongoing Parks & Recreation programs

A new club started this year dubbed Northern RI Reservoir Jogs continues to hold weekly walk/runs through town and all are invited to join. Routes generally depart Saturday mornings from Coffee & Cream at Slatersville Plaza. Learn more here or follow the group on Facebook to see upcoming events.

There is still time to take part in another program and help cover the town in yellow spring flowers by planting them in your own front yard. Dutch master yellow daffodil bulbs can be purchased for $30 for a 100 count bag. To get yours, contact Ann Lilley at (401) 556-0853 or jslilley@yahoo.com. Read more about the program here.
