NORTH SMITHFIELD – North Smithfield-based artist Stefan Couture kept his Virtual Campfire burning throughout the pandemic lock down. Now that the clubs and concert stages are open again, he says he’s been playing out every chance he gets.

“I’ve been performing at a lot of Rhode Island’s amazing craft breweries and teaming up with our state’s fantastic food trucks,” Couture told NRI NOW. “It’s been making for a great night of people, beer, food and music.”

Couture has also been designing and illustrating his own merchandise.

“It’s been starting to take on a life of its own,” he said. “It’s been so fun and fulfilling combining my art and music.”

The guitarist/singer/songwriter was at Bravo Brewing Company in Pascoag on Saturday, Sept.11.

When we last spoke with Couture, he was trapped in his house by the COVID lock down, but since August he’s been back to work as a stage hand on production sets, recently finishing work on season 9 for Showtime’s Dexter.

Couture will be hitting the concert stage again on Saturday, Sept, 18 at the Narrows in Fall River, Mass., when he opens for Ryan Montbleau.

“This guy is well-respected, it’s an honor and a great opportunity to able to play in front of such a large audience,”  Couture said.

Doors for the show open at 7 p.m., with showtime at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at https://narrowscenter.showare.com.

As for new music, the artist has been recording with Chuck Ladoucer out of Red Dog Studios in Bellingham, Mass.

“He’s a good friend and a really great creative collaborator,” Couture said.

This fall, Couture plans to release, The Time Travels Mix Tape, a collection of songs written over the last 20 years.

Fans will want this one.
