Police seize drugs, $36K in cash from No. Smithfield apartment

NORTH SMITHFIELD – A North Smithfield man is facing felony charges after a search of his Railroad Street apartment turned up more than two pounds of marijuana and $36,030 in cash.

Justin Murray, 25, of North Smithfield has been charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to
deliver a controlled substance.

Members of the North Smithfield Police Department reportedly executed a search warrant at Murray’s residence at 10 Railroad St. on Tuesday, Aug. 3 following a joint investigation with the Cumberland Police Department.

Detectives located and seized 2.1 pounds of marijuana; $36,030 cash and 70 milliliters of marijuana oil according to a press release sent out by the department on Friday. Aug. 13.

Murray was taken into custody and arraigned in Third District Court. He was also reportedly a bail violator on a unrelated possession charge and was held without bail.
