School supplies drive

Burrillville Helping Burrillville and the Burrillville Rocks group are teaming up to raise funds for local families in need of school supplies for the upcoming school year. Those who would like to help them meet their fundraising goal are asked to donate here.

Job fair

Bus company DATTCO will hold another job fair on Wednesday, July 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in effort to hire school bus and van drivers for both Burrillville and North Smithfield. The company offers free CDL training and no experience is needed. To learn more, visit the fair at 404 Pascoag Main St. or apply online at DATTCO.com/jobs.

Final vaccination clinic

The town of Burrillville is working with the School Department to hold a vaccination clinic prior to the start of the school year, to be held on July 20, with a second dose administered on August 10. The clinic will be open to anyone in town age 12 and up.

Students can register via the Burrillville School Department website, and non-students should call Jesse Smith Library at (401) 710-7800 to schedule their vaccine.

Weekend fun

Residents are reminded that the Burrillville Farmers Market takes place at the Stillwater Mill Pavilion every Saturday through September 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with local food, art and music.

The Riverwalk Concert Series continues on Saturday, July 17 with a free performance by Brass Attack starting at 6 p.m. The concerts are held at the pavilion in front of Jesse Smith Memorial Library, and moved to Levy Ice Rink in inclement weather.

On Sunday, July 17, PVD Food Trucks returns to the Assembly Theatre on East Avenue with vendors including Trinity Brewhouse starting at 5 p.m. The event will include entertainment by acoustic guitar player Julio Amaro.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Monday, July 12 starting at 6:30 p.m. at 75 Tinkham Lane. The agenda can be found here.

The Pascoag Fire District will hold a meeting on Monday, July 12 starting at 7 p.m. at 141 Howard Ave. Residents can attend in person or via Zoom with the agenda and link found here.

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, July 12 starting at 7 p.m. Members of the public can attend via Zoom with an agenda and link found here.

The Burrillville Sewer Commission will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 13 starting at 6:30 p.m. The agenda and instructions to attend can be found here.

The Nasonville Fire District will hold a meeting on Tuesday, July 13 starting at 7 p.m. at 2577 Victory Highway and via Zoom, with the agenda and instructions to attend here.

The Burrillville Zoning Board will have no hearings for the month of July.
