Shots will be given out by appointment only on Thursday, Feb. 18 at Monsignor Gadoury School, with 80 doses administered to town residents. The vaccine is being administered to the town’s oldest residents first, and will work through the waiting list scheduling for additional events in the upcoming weeks.

Those is the target age bracket who have not yet had their name added to waiting list for the vaccine should call the North Smithfield Emergency Management Agency at (401) 767-2200 ext. 510. The office is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More volunteers – both to administer the vaccine and to help with things like check-ins – are still needed in what is expected to be a ongoing long-term effort to administer the vaccine. Those who would like to donate some time are also asked to call the EMA office during regular hours.
