BURRILLVILLE – Town resident, artist and well-known public safety advocate Jim Weicherding was back in the DiPonti Communications owned radio stations recently producing his new home fire safety and burn prevention radio promo featuring his popular firefighting dinosaurs.
The Fearless Dino Protector Squad reminded listeners across the state of Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut to be mindful of home fire safety hazards. Weicherding and the squad recorded messages related to space heater safety, safe escapes and smoke detectors in homes and apartments.
“With literally thousands of radio listeners and podcast listeners hearing these hourly radio promos every day, chances are these important messages will help parents and kids open up dialogue about fire safety and burn prevention throughout the coming winter months,” he said.
The Fearless Dino Protector Squad firefighting dinosaurs are part of Weicherding’s Buckleupallofus award-winning dinosaur family, teaching kids about a variety of safety concerns including child passenger safety and traffic safety all year long.
“Kids are going to love these great cartoon characters and their funny voices while learning how to be safer in their daily lives,” said Weicherding.
Fire departments across Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, and the Rhode Island State Fire Marshal’s Office, have been utilizing Weicherding’s Fearless Dino Protector Squad Firefighters, featured in multiple coloring books and coloring calendars as well as incorporated on many kids home fire safety take home products, for two decades. Recently, the Providence Fire Department added Weicherding’s “Safe Kitchen, Safe You!” home fire safety and burn prevention coloring cartoons on their official website for kids and families in their city.
