Curbside yard waste collection began on Monday, Oct. 5, and yard waste will be collected on the same day as residents’ regular trash and recycling. Households can have “reasonable amount,” of leaf bags or cans, clearly marked, of yard waste out at the curb for weekly collection, according to town officials. The fall collection season runs through Friday, Dec. 4.

Drop off hours at the Highway Garage at 281 Quaker Highway will continue on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. only. Residents are welcome to bring yard waste or accepted recyclables. The town offers free drop off for rigid plastic and scrap metal items as well as used motor oil. Do not leave items outside the gate after business hours, or town officials will take notice.
