In-person schooling begins

The Burrillville school district will welcome back students in kindergarten and 2nd grade in person, along with IEP students across grades PK-12 on Tuesday, Sept. 29. As this first group begins in-person instruction, kindergarten and grade 2 students signed up for distance learning will have independent work time.

Anyone unsure of their bus route or pick up and drop off times is asked to contact DATTCO directly at (401) 371-2774.

Tax payment due

Residents are reminded that first quarter tax payments to the town of Burrillville are due on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Town officials are encouraging residents to use the drop box to make payments, or to sign up for automatic debit here.

A decision regarding motor vehicle taxes has been delayed pending state guidance.

Football online

Cheer on the Burrillville High School Broncos 2020 Football team as they play South Kingstown on Friday, Oct. 2 from the comfort of home. The game, which starts at 6 p.m. will be streamed live here.

And don’t forget to support the younger players. The Burrillville Patriots Football & Cheer will host a car show fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 4 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Burrillville Middle School.

BGYSA registration

The Burrillville Glocester Youth Soccer Association is accepting registration for players born between 2003 and 2013 through Monday, Oct. 5. Sign up for all three sessions for $650 or the spring session only for $185 via the link found here. Questions can be directed to Dan Romani at compdir@bgysa.org.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Board of Canvassers will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 29 starting at 10 a.m.  The agenda and instructions to attend can be found here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 30 starting at 7 p.m. for an executive session requested by Town Manager Michael Wood. The agenda can be found here.
