Burrillville police arrest two teens, one adult for BB gun shooting spree spanning three states

BURRILLVILLE – Burrillville police have arrested three suspects accused of damaging cars and homes in a series of BB gun shootings that have taken place across Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut over the past several weeks.

Drew Fafard, 18, of Pascoag has been charged with eight counts of discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, one count of committing a drive by shooting, ten counts of conspiracy and ten counts of vandalism in connection with the incidents. He was arraigned in Sixth District Court with bail being set at $20,000 with surety.

Burrillville police also arrested two male juveniles following an investigation by Det. Robert Veader, according to a release from the department on Friday, Dec. 6.

The 14-year-old juvenile has been charged with eight counts of discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, one count of committing a drive by shooting, ten counts of conspiracy and twn counts of vandalism. He was released to the custody of his parents.

The 15-year-old juvenile has been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon in a dwelling house, eight counts of discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, one count of committing a drive by shooting, ten counts of conspiracy and ten counts of vandalism. He was remanded to the Rhode Island Training School pending an appearance in Rhode Island Family Court.

All three are expected to face additional charges in surrounding communities.

The shootings have been reported in Glocester, Lincoln, North Smithfield and Cumberland, as well as numerous other towns in Massachusetts and Connecticut, according to police. resulted in extensive damage to homes and automobiles.

“In one of these shootings, a female subject standing in a home was almost struck by one the projectiles,” noted the release.

The three suspects were arrested on Thursday Dec. 5.
