Volunteer drivers

A meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 18 starting at 10:30 a.m. in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library community room for residents who may be interested in volunteering a few hours a week to help older Burrillville residents with transportation.

Everyone is invited to the informational meeting, and coffee and refreshments will be served.

Land Trust Open House

The Burrillville Land Trust will host a “Thanksgiving Good Cheer” open house at Bravo Brewing Company in Pascoag on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Learn about land preservation and why the land trust properties do not allow hunting, talk to fellow community leaders about the upcoming 2020 Green Economy Bond, and hear about the Music at the Farm concert series.

Bravo Brewery will have beers and non-alcoholic drinks for sale.

Terry Nau

Pascoag Public Library will host local author and Vietnam veteran Terry Nau on Thursday, Nov. 21 starting at 6 p.m.. To learn more, call the library at (401) 568-6226.

Girls softball

Registration is now open for Burrillville Girls Softball Association, with the new league slated to launch in April of 2020. Practices and games will be held at Hauser Field and 6u through 12u girls are invited to register at burrillvillegirlssoftball.com.

Town meetings

The Branch River Park and Track Exploratory Committee will hold its regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 18 starting at 6 p.m.

The Harrisville Fire District will hold a workshop on Monday starting at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the job description and wages for the office and water department personnel.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, Nov. 18 starting at 7 p.m. for an agenda that can be found here.

The Oakland Mapleville Fire District will hold its monthly meeting on Wedensday, Nov. 20 starting at 7 p.m. for an agenda that can be found here.
