Star Wars Party

Pascoag Public Library will host an all-ages Star Wars Party on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11 to 1 p.m. to celebrate all things Star Wars with a special appearance by the 501st Stormtroopers.

Brewery opens

A new brewery will open its doors in Pascoag on Saturday, with a Grand Opening event starting at noon. Bravo Brewing Company will have ten beers on tap for the event, plus visits from Burgundian Waffles and Homes For Our Troops.

The business plans to give 1 percent of their annual sales to Homes For Our Troops, a national non-profit organization based in Taunton, Mass., dedicated to building and donating adapted homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans and their families.

At the Assembly

Audition workshop

The Assembly Theatre will host an Audition Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 9 for kids ages 10 to 16.

Do you love acting or singing and have interest in doing a large scale production but not sure where to start? The three hour workshop will focus on preparation for your next audition. Students will learn acting skills, public speaking, creative thinking, self confidence and self-esteem and will walk away from the class with an age and level appropriate monologue or song, depending on their interests.

This class costs $45 and students must register by emailing AssemblyACT@gmail.com with their name, age and email address.

For those unable to attend the class are instructed to stay tuned, as there will be more classes to come at the theater.

80s Night with the Pop Rocks

On Saturday night, the Assembly will host 80’s Night with The Pop Rocks starting at 8 p.m. Tickets for the all ages show cost $20 and can be purchased here.

More live music

Uncle Ronnies Red Tavern will host cover band Kontrolled Havok on Friday, Nov. 8. Admission is free and music starts at 9 p.m.

On Saturday night, Burrillville Seventh Day Adventist will host Jacob’s Well Concert featuring local Christian musicians MANNA. All are invited to the free gospel music concert from 7 to 9 p.m.

On Sunday, Nov. 10 Grace Note Farm will host cellist Eunghee Cho and pianist Jayoung Kim for a classical music concert at 969 Jackson Schoolhouse Road. Tour the farm, visit the animals and enjoy dessert after the indoor concert. Tickets cost $20 or $10 for students. For more information call (401) 567-0354.

Holiday Open House

Village Barn Country Store & Antiques in Mapleville will host their annual Holiday Open House at Village Barn this weekend with holiday specials, discounts and raffle every 30 minutes. Stop by anytime from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday.

Veteran’s Day 

Monday, Nov. 11 is Veteran Day, and there will be no school or trash pickup in Burrillville, with pickup delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

Burrillville Allied Veterans Council will host a Veterans’ Day Ceremony at Veterans’ Memorial Park in Pascoag starting at 11 a.m. on Monday, and the public is invited to attend.
